Anjuman Samaji Behbood (ASB)

 

Anjuman Samaji Behbood (ASB)  is a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered under the Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance of 1961 and based in Paki Shah Mardan, District Mianwali, Pakistan. Established in 1991, ASB operates with a mission of social welfare, economic empowerment, and disaster relief, primarily serving underprivileged communities across Pakistan, including Punjab, KPK, Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan. 

 

Key Services and Programs: 

1. Water Projects:  Installation of hand pumps, water turbines, submersible pumps (including solar-powered ones), water pipelines, Water Filteration Plants and storage tanks to provide clean drinking water in remote and arid regions. 

2. Mass Marriages: Organizing collective marriage ceremonies to support low-income families, reducing the financial burden of dowries and wedding expenses. 

3. Ramadan Relief:  Distributing food parcels, providing cash gifts to the poor, volunteers, and orphans, and organizing community iftar programs. 

4. Healthcare Services:  Operating Al-Mahdi Hospital, which offers specialized services including an eye clinic (Aeinullah Eye Clinic), dialysis unit, maternal and child health centers, and free medical camps in underserved areas. 

5. Education: Running schools (e.g., Indus Model Schools), a degree college, and Al-Fajar University, with a focus on both secular and religious education, including vocational training. 

6. Economic Empowerment: Providing microloans, loader rickshaws, and supporting small business initiatives, especially for low-income individuals. 

7. Religious and Preaching Activities: Promoting Islamic teachings through madrasas, Islamic centers, seminars, conferences, and publications like the monthly “Payam-e-Zainab”. 

8. Winter Relief:  Distributing blankets, warm clothing, and quilts in cold regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan and Parachinar. 

9. Emergency Relief:  Responding to natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, and landslides with immediate aid including food, bedding, and medical support. 

10. Orphan Support:  Providing financial assistance and essential supplies to orphans across various regions. 

 

ASB works in partnership with international donors like WF-AID & Pentaid UK  to implement these programs, emphasizing sustainable development and community support through a wide range of humanitarian initiatives.
